Hepatocyte mitotic activity after liver homogenate injection

چکیده
The factors controlling the initiation, maintenance, and ces sation of hepatic cell mitosis in response to partial hepatectomy are not completely understood. Evidence offered by parabiont studies favors considering the presence of a humoral factor (7, 10, 16). The present study demonstrates the effect of the postulated humoral factor upon tumor cells present in the liver during the 12-day period following partial hepatectomy, as well as the effect of the tumor cell presence upon the hepatic cell proliferation following partial hepatectomy.

Hepatic cells' mitotic and peritoneal macrophage phagocytic activities during Trypanosoma musculi infection in zinc-deficient mice.
The effects of zinc deficiency on hepatic cell mitotic and peritoneal macrophage phagocytic activities were examined in mice infected with Trypanosoma musculi or immunized with parasitic products. On a full-complement or pair-fed diet, infected and homogenate-inoculated mice showed mitotic activity gains of 7.9% to 80.3% and 6.5% to 99.0%, respectively. Infected and homogenate-inoculated mice o...

SUMMARY One intraperitoneal injection of 1 mg of 3-methylchol anthrene into immature male and female rats results in an increase in azo dye demethylase activity. This is followed by an increase in wet and dry liver weight and in total protein, which reaches a peak of about 30†" 40% above control levels within 3 or 4 days. Cell proliferation contributes to the in crease in liver weight and pro...
متن کاملIn vivo Introduced Extracellular Ubiquitin Regulates Intracellular Processes
Extracellular ubiquitin in vivo effect on regenerative liver cells and liver histoarchitectonics has been studied. Experiments were performed on mature female white rats. Partial hepatectomy was made using the modified method of Higgins and Anderson. Standard histopathological assessment of liver tissue was used. Proliferative activity of hepatocytes was analyzed by colchicine mitotic index and...
متن کاملDifferentiation of bone mesenchymal stem cells into hepatocyte-like cells induced by liver tissue homogenate.
This study investigated the efficacy and feasibility of inducing the differentiation of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) into hepatocyte-like cells in vitro using Sprague Dawley rats, as a model of hepatocyte generation for cell transplantation. BMSCs were isolated and grown using the adherent method and exposed to 5 or 10% liver tissue homogenate, before being collected for a...
متن کاملLysosomes and Fas-mediated liver cell death.
A number of studies, mostly performed ex vivo, suggest that lysosomes are involved in apoptosis as a result of a release of their cathepsins into the cytosol. These enzymes could then contribute to the permeabilization of the outer mitochondrial membrane; they could also activate effector caspases. The present study aims at testing whether the membrane of liver lysosomes is disrupted during Fas...
